October 15, 2006. Bev Jones, from Sequim, Washington, USA. “I am so pleased to have the opportunity to join you this Audubon weekend. Our journey to El Copé is memorable as I added 8 species to those I’ve experienced. Last evening, walking to the river, I regret not having more time on your finca. Maybe in the future.”

April 2006. Emily Duval, scientist associated with the Max Planck Institute for Ornithology in Germany.
“Muchisimas gracias for inviting us to this beautiful finca! The abundance and diversity of birds was fantastic, and the lance-tailed manakins were in full swing (we saw 4 dances performed for females, found 3 nests, and mistnetted 26 adults in 4 days!). In addition to the LTMA’s we caught:
Barred Antshike
Blue Ground Dove
Clay-colored Thrush
Lesser Seedfinch
Pale-eyed Pygmy Tyrant
Panama Flycatcher
Red-legged Honeycreeper (8)
Rufus-and-white Wren
Rufus-breasted Wren
|
Rufus-browed Peppershrike
Rufus-capped Warbler
Sapphire-throated Hummingbird
Slate-headed tody flycatcher
Streaked Saltator
Swainson’s Thrush
White-tipped dove
Yellow-green Vireo
Yellow-Olive Flycatcher

This is a great sampling of lowland birds, especially considering that our nets were targeted for Lance-tailed Manakins! This was a terrific spot to work, and I hope to come back sometime soon!”
Todd Thompson, member of the LTMA’s team, wrote: “a great place for photography, birding, exploring and generally enjoying life. Thanks!”

March 30, 2004. Audre Newman, California. Thanks for your hospitality. This farm is very lovely, many birds and very comfortable as well. The soft winds in the late afternoon, and the evening sky full of stars, and good friends, were the most impressive things.

February 10, 2004. Elena Barletta and family, Belgium. Congratulations on all the accomplishments at La Peregüeta. The place is lovely; this together with good hospitality and warmth is difficult to express in words. We spent a nice time and you can rest assured that we will return.
February 15-16, 2003. Carmen Figueroa Martino, Boquete, Panama. Since the first time I came here I have been in love with this place. The river, the trees the birds. There is a good variety of fruits, seeds and flowers to feed the species that live here. Now that it has a pool, a social area and hammocks, the place is very cozy and warm. I plan to continue visiting.

February 15, 2002. Rosabel Miro, President of Panama Audubon Society (PAS). Great day, lots of sun and a nice wind. On the way to the river we say a bran-colored flycatcher, Rufus breasted wren, yellow tyrannulets, goldfinches and many lance-tailed Manakins. We have to return and keep looking because the area is very promising for scrub vegetation and lowland birds. PS. The swim at 5:30 pm was super!
